| Background |

Fear is a thrilling emotion that has an interesting reaction from people. Cold sweat, tensing, shuddering, tears, etc. These are reactions towards a subject brought out that are catered to specific individuals. 'Entomophobia' is a project to bring out the emotion of fear in order to experience a shared sentiment for the group of people that have read the narrative.

Frankeninsect Encyclopedia

Would an insect appear more terrifying if they are combined with limbs of various insects? Frankeninsect is an experimentation using photoshop, sewing three to four different insects to create a new insect chimera.

During the 1960s-2000s there were a number of movies focusing on insects such as Mothra(1961), Mimic(1997), Spider Panic(2002), all antagonising insects. The illustrations below are taking inspiration from these movies

Outcome

| Creating a Narrative |

Fear cannot be brought through a single image. It is key to create a narrative that creates dimension to the visual which stirs fear slowly but surely.
